Hotel Guest Reviews of the Renaissance Dallas

I threw an out-of-town wedding shower for 5 girls. I personally called the front desk to make sure all could be accommodated in 1 room. They said no problem, we could call the day before our stay and request a room with 2 Queen beds and a pull out couch. I called the day before, and was told that was not possible and no one should have told me that. The manager could only offer me half off the rate of another room. I ended up canceling the 2nd room, only because someone in our party was sick. We were told maybe we could get a roll away bed, if one was available. Luckily we got the last one. To make matters worse, when we got to the room, the drains in the sinks and bathtubs were still plugged, leaving behind dirty water with remnants of something in them. Then we noticed the rollaway bed did not come with a blanket. Called the front desk, and was told if they had any extras, they would bring one. I also asked for someone to clean the sinks and tub. Someone who could barely speak English came to our room. Instead of blankets, they brought a mattress pad, and said that's all they had. ...read more

The hotel was great. It was the manager that was not. Upon our arrival we were told that they said all they had was 1 queen bed. We needed 2 beds not just 1 queen. We had 3 traveling with us. After speaking to the manager, I then asked to speak to her supervisor. She told us that they would at least get us a 2 queen handicap accessible room, which we didn't need. We were finally accommodated with a beautiful room with 2 queen beds & a view. ...read more

contemporary beauty of the room.
Very nice, welcoming staff, spotless room and
comfortable bed, Aveda bath products. Fridge in room although it did not list in amenities - nice perk. Overall very happy with our stay. The bar was overpriced and drink was of poor quality. We could also hear the people next door talking at 12am - they could have been inconsiderate and loud which would have been no fault of the hotel. ...read more

Easy to find, and central in Dallas, the Renaissance Dallas is nevertheless in Dallas, where you can't walk to nearby attractions or conveniences. For this reason it should have both a better sundry shop, it was adequate and better in-room entertainment. The gym is fine with up-to-date cardio machines, a set of free weights, and locker rooms which I didn't see. As for the room itself, I was at the end of the hall from the elevators and could nevertheless hear every word uttered in the hallway all night. The mechanical noises of the building were also loud. My room was small, peculiar in shape and layout, and the shower door leaked all over the slippery floor. Though I wasn't angry when I checked out the next morning, I was tired and will not stay at this hotel again. There are many other reasonable options in Dallas. ...read more
